Sam Bankman-Fried tries to justify FTX crash
SBF sent 15,000 words, formatted as an intended series of tweets spanning 250 pages, in an attempt to explain FTX collapse, to Tiffany Fong. Tiffany in turn shared the clippings with the New York Times.
According to the material he shared, SBF wrote long pages of ramblings and thoughts about his childhood memories and his role in the collapse of FTX.
He notably shifted the blame of the crash of the biggest company in recent times to his former colleagues, including his ex-lover and former Alameda Research CEO, Caroline Ellison, whom he had previously shared her writings with NYT.
“I’m broke and wearing an ankle monitor and one of the most hated people in the world,” SBF wrote. “There will probably never be anything I can do to make my lifetime impact net positive.”
The document contains links to information related to the FTX group and a spreadsheet detailing SBF’s Amazon purchases. The packages were sent via a chartered private jet.

Distracting CZ in Taiwan
Tiffany Wong gained popularity for leaking private meetings and statements sourced from disgruntled Celsius Insider. This caught Sam Bankman-Fried attention and he shared his thought with her.
Naturally, the law firm handling the FTX bankruptcy case was also blamed for daring to imply that SBF was really to blame for the improper use of the users’ funds.
After a brief reflection on why all of his relationships ended in failure, the paper moves on to an irreverent interlude where CZ is also mentioned. SBF claimed that CZ was distracted from his date by none other than SBF himself during a convention in Taiwan.
He wrote: “Tonight was a night about booze and women and lasers and loud, booming music, but there was an odd microclimate that seemed to follow me. I walked by CZ a few more times, and each time, he broke eye contact with his eye candy and embraced me: People were thinking about us a lot.”
The failed FTX founder’s trial will begin on October 2. He will be tried on seven counts of fraud and money laundering. A superior charge has also indicted him of violating campaign finance law.
